Birmingham Connected is the umbrella for all transport planning activity across the city and is underpinned by the Birmingham Connected White Paper, our 20 year transport strategy.
Our goal is to create a transport system for everyone; one that puts people first and delivers better connections for citizens and businesses. We want to improve daily lives by making travel faster, safer and healthier.
Delivering this vision means investment in our transport infrastructure; our railways, roads and cycling and walking routes. This will be challenging, and will mean periods of disruption across the city. Co-ordinating work, collaborating with partner organisations and learning from what we have already done will help us keep problems to a minimum, but some journeys will still be affected.
On these pages, we will provide information and maps showing current and future work, with details of how this may affect your journey and how you can help to minimise delays – perhaps by changing your mode of transport, altering the time you travel or using a different route.
