All About Me
As a Councillor and resident of South Yardley I’m aware of the current issues facing our local community. It is my intention to resolve as far as possible these community based issues during my time as your Councillor.
I am committed to attending community based meetings to enable me to meet local people and listen to their views and aspirations for the delivery of, and improvements to, local services.
I am also committed to keeping you in touch with all the current work I’m undertaking on your behalf. I will therefore ensure that I deliver regular newsletters informing you of my recent activities. I will also obtain your feedback on Council services with surveys, providing you with an opportunity to highlight inefficiencies which I will seek to resolve.
I also believe that you should have a say about what is happening in your community and how your hard earned money should be spent in South Yardley.
I will work to further enhance our community and make it a cleaner, greener and safer place in which to live.
I regularly attend Police Tasking Meetings where local policing priorities are set. I am committed to reducing crime even further and I’m pleased to note that crime figures have fallen consistently during the last five years.
Outside the council I actively participate with the development of the Vibe which is a new club for local youths.
I’m currently a member of Friends of Small Heath Park.
From 1966 – 2005, I was a community worker where I undertook various positions including the provision of horticulture training. I have also worked on community based projects including providing support for elderly residents including visiting, painting and decorating services. I also have experience in the provision of benefits advice and services for pre school & youth groups.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like to raise a personal or community issues with me. I cannot promise to resolve all the issues which are brought to my attention but you can rest assured that I will do all that I can to help.
