Job Applications

The Elections Office appoints casual staff at different times of the year, to assist in both the running of elections, and also during the annual canvass.

We have vacancies in the following positions:

Election Jobs (Usually the first Thursday in May, but maybe at other times)

• Presiding Officer
• Poll Clerk
• Counting Assistant
• Other office based election jobs

UPDATE: There is no planned election in Birmingham in 2013, although this is subject to change. Anyone interested in working for us (who did not work at the most recent election), can register their interest by phoning or emailing us. We will then store your details on file, and will send out application forms when we know what our staff requirements are. Please do not send us completed application forms at this stage.

Positions are offered to people who have undertaken the role satisfactorily previously, but there are often vacancies which arise, up until the last minute, and if you would like to be considered for any vacancies which arise, you should complete an application form.

Please be aware that due to the high number of application forms we receive, it is not possible to confirm receipt of application forms. We will also not inform applicants if they have been unsuccessful, as it is possible that vacancies will arise at the last minute.
