Welcome to Birmingham City Council Adoption and Fostering Service, the leading agency for adoption and fostering in Birmingham that is responsible for all of Birmingham's looked after children.
At any one time Birmingham City Council is responsible for about 2000 looked after children. We try to find stable, secure and caring homes that suit each child's age, ethnicity, religion and culture, and also their emotional, educational and physical needs.
Birmingham Adoption and Fostering Service is a team of dedicated staff who recruit, assess, train, approve and support suitable temporary and long-term foster carers and adoptive parents for children.
No other agency within the city boundaries has direct responsibility for the children who need looking after. We do. And we care about this very much. Could you?

At the beginning of National Foster Care Fortnight, Aston Villa Football Club (AVFC) winger, Marc Albrighton presented foster carer Pauline Rees with a 'Long Service' Award and bouquet at AVFC's last home game of the season against Chelsea on Saturday 11th May. Marc then took some time out to be photographed with Pauline and with each of her grandchildren who are all staunch Villa supporters.
