The Landscape Practice Group

Landscape Practice Group (LPG) is a section within Parks and Nature Conservation. LPG is the provider of Landscape Architectural & Urban Design Services for Birmingham City Council and its partners. We provide a wide range of landscape design services from the initial consultation with our clients through to the completion of the project.

The practice is also experienced in project management of large value landscape, park and urban regeneration projects involving assembling and co-ordinating multi-disciplinary teams to deliver these projects.

The section employs professional Landscape Architects and Clerk of Works and is a registered practice with the Landscape Institute.

  • LPG works on projects for all directorates and departments on Council owned land and also works in partnership with external clients such as Schools, Housing Associations and private developers.

  • LPG charges fees to the service clients across the directorates , constituencies and to external clients for the work undertaken. These are based on industry approved percentage fee rates charged against the capital works value and time charges for additional services agreed with the client for each project undertaken.

  • LPG is a registered practice of the Landscape Institute and currently employs around 14 staff including chartered landscape architects, a landscape clerk of works, landscape development officers, technical support staff and business support officers.

Designers are free to specify any products as long as they comply with any relevant local, national or European standards and provide good value and sustainability.
