Assisting travel between home and school
We provide information for parents and carers and on what types of travel assistance is provided for pupils between home and school. In order to be considered for help you must be:
- ordinarily resident in the Birmingham area, ie: you, as the parent, must pay your council tax to Birmingham City Council; and
- your child must be attending the nearest available school.
Guidance for parents, carers and pupils
We provide appropriate public travel assistance between home and school for those pupils between the ages of five and sixteen years of age.
For those pupils with learning difficulties and / or physical difficulties we also provide more specialised forms of travel assistance.
For further details please read the Education Transport Policy and the guidance available from our Documents page.
