South Yardley Ward
To the South of the ward:-
The loss of the area nearest to Acocks Green Village and Acocks Green train station.
To the North of the ward:-
The boundary was extended from Blakesley Road to Bordesley Green East.
To the West of the ward:-
The area was extended up to Golden Hillock Road. This included the Small Heath Park area and Greet.
Over-riding this general picture are concerns from within the local communities, many of which have been raised at Ward Sub-Committees, relating to crime or the fear of crime, the impact of proposed development on existing shopping/small businesses and the general decline of the commercial centres.
Issues relating to Transport, Environmental impact and the decline of public open space all feature prominently.
Yardley Cemetery and Crematorium lies within the ward.
