MEMORIAL KERBS
Memorial Kerbs border the pathways in the Gardens of Remembrance. The memorial consists of a permanently fixed kerb base into which is set a commemorative plaque.

The plaque allows for a single inscription consisting of up to eight lines including the name of the deceased, and an inscription normally including the year of birth and the year of death. The kerb plaque is provided with an engraved motif, and you can view a selection of the most popular Memorial Motifs, with their identifying codes. If you cannot find a suitable memorial motif from those shown then please contact Sutton Coldfield Crematorium to discuss your requirements.

Alternatively the kerb plaque can be supplied with an oval ceramic photographic miniature displaying a portrait of the deceased. It will be necessary for the applicant to supply a good quality photograph, if this option is required. Please refer to the Table of Fees and Charges, as there is an extra charge for a photographic miniature. Further information can be found below under hotographic Miniatures

The Memorial Kerb base has also been designed to accept a flower holder, enabling visitors to remember a loved one with flowers in the traditional way. The kerb memorials are available to lease for a period of 10 years. The Council will reconsider the memorial scheme at the end of this period and advise the applicant of options at that time.

There are three different colour options available for the inset plaque when choosing a memorial kerb; green, rust and pearl blue (shown below).

If you cannot find a suitable Memorial Motif from those shown then please contact Sutton Coldfield Crematorium to discuss your requirements.

Thegreen plaque is flecked with complimenting colours and inscribed and inlaid with gold coloured enamel.

The rust plaque has a rust coloured background with flecks of black and silver, which is inscribed and inlaid with gold coloured enamel.

The blue plaque is predominantly dark blue with flecks of lighter blue and silver and is inscribed and inlaid with gold coloured enamel.

MEMORIAL WALL PLAQUES
Memorial walls are located within the Gardens of Remembrance. The walls incorporate the facility to allow cut flowers to be displayed in remembrance of a loved one.

Decorative panels accommodate single and double plaques bearing an engraved motif, the name of the deceased, and a short inscription normally including the years of birth and death. The double plaques are provided to allow for two names and inscriptions to be recorded together if desired.

Plaques are supplied with the applicant's choice of engraved motif displayed next to the inscription. Alternatively an oval ceramic photographic miniature displaying a portrait of the deceased can be incorporated into the plaque if desired. It will be necessary for the applicant to supply a good quality photograph. Further information can be found below under Photographic Miniatures. Wall plaques can be leased for a ten year period. The Council will reconsider the memorial scheme at the end of this period and advise applicants of options at that time.

Two sizes of wall plaque are available on the memorial walls. 200mm x 80mm for a single inscription plaque, or 200mm x 160mm for a double plaque in remembrance of two loved ones. There are three different colour options available for plaques mounted on the walls; green, rust and pearl blue (see Memorial Kerbs above for further information on the colours and to view examples)

As with Memorial kerbs you can view a selection of the most popular Memorial Motifs. If you cannot find a suitable motif amongst those displayed then contact Sutton Coldfield Crematoria Office to discuss your requirements.
PHOTOGRAPHIC MINIATURES
Both Memorial Kerbs and Memorial Wall Plaques can accommodate a ceramic photographic miniature displaying
a portrait of a deceased loved one. The Wall Plaques and Kerb Plaques will accommodate a ceramic miniature
approximately 70 mm x 50 mm in size.

The ceramic photographic miniature can be fixed to the Memorial Kerb or Wall Plaque in place of the standard engraved motif if required. It is necessary for the applicant to supply a good quality photograph of the deceased if this option is required. The size of the supplied photograph is not important as the image can be enlarged or reduced accordingly.

There is a facility for attaching a digital photograph to an online order if required.

Please consult theTable of Fees and Chargesas there is an additional cost for this service.PERGOLA WALL PLAQUES
An ornamental pergola is located in the Gardens of Remembrance. The structure is built of rose and buff coloured stone. The columns are octagonal, three sides being available for memorial plaques and the remaining sides are covered by climbing shrubs.

The memorial plaque is 204mm by 63mm and allows for the name of the deceased, the year of birth and the year of death to be inscribed. These plaques are available for lease for a ten year period. The Council will reconsider the memorial scheme at the end of this period and advise the applicant of options at that time.
RED GRANITE KERBSTONES
Red granite kerbstones edge the block paved pathway near the wooded spiny within the Gardens of Remembrance. The kerbs are crafted from natural red granite and the inscription is overlaid with gold leaf. The size of the kerbstone allows for a single inscription consisting of the name of the deceased, the year of birth and the year of death.

It has to be made clear that there is no provision for floral tributes to be placed with this memorial. To protect the natural ambience of the area, any flowers left by memorials will be moved by the crematorium staff. Kerbstones are available to lease for a ten year period. The Council will reconsider the memorial scheme at the end of this period and advise the applicant of options at that time.
BOOKS OF REMEMBRANCE
The Book of Remembrance is on display in the memorial room at the crematorium. It provides a lasting record and
a simple but dignified memorial. The Book is in four volumes and bound in leather, richly tooled in gold and emblazoned with the City coat of arms. Entries are made by hand.

A page is provided for each day of the year. The book is housed in a protective cabinet and is opened each day at
the page displaying the current date so that entries may be seen on each anniversary date for many years to come.

Once the book is filled it will be preserved and will always be available for reference at the crematorium. Inscriptions can consist of either 2, 5 or 8 line entries. Badges, coats of arms, floral motifs etc may be included with a 5 or 8 line entry at additional cost. See the Table of Fees and Charges for details on the various charges of entries. You can also view some of the many Book of Remembrance motifs, which are available.
