Children's Promise

Birmingham Libraries worked with young people to write a list of things which we should do for children and young people so that we could create a Children's Promise.

Funky Friendly Books at Druids Heath

A group of young people created a fantastic new collection of books for Druids Heath Library. They chose books electronically from an online bookstore and helped to get the books ready to go out onto the shelves. They also created a spectacular display to advertise the new books.

The New Library of Birmingham

What would be in your dream library?

A new library is being built in the centre of Birmingham. We asked for YOUR ideas for what should go into a new building.

Young Ideas Competition

If you had the money to make your library better for young people...

Birmingham Libraries are keen to find out what children and young people want from their library. The Young Ideas competition challenged young people to come up with ways of improving their local library.

Your Say Competition

We asked you what you thought of your local library.

Competition winner Hadeeqa wanted more author visits and more activities for teenagers.

The X-Factor

How do you feel about politics?

During Local Democracy Week, Libraries and the Youth Service asked young people what they thought about politics through a series of workshops, displays and quizzes.
