Be Heard

Do you ever wonder if the council and other public organisations use what local people think to design services and set local priorities?

Well the Birmingham Be Heard Consultation Database lets you track what people have been asked, what they have said and what the council or other organisations have done as a result. The new version of Be Heard now includes a ‘Have Your Say’ function which allows you to find out where you can give your views and help make a difference.

There are over 500 consultations on Be Heard and this is increasing all the time. It includes past, present and future consultations which have been added by Birmingham City Council, NHS trusts, the police and fire services and voluntary sector organisations. Find out what you said and what has been done in response by visiting

Have you ever wondered how you can become more involved with the work of a local charity or community group? Or perhaps you and your neighbours feel strongly about something that no one else seems to be addressing, but you don't know the next steps to take? These are questions that a new website called Be Involved will seek to answer.

Be Involved signposts you to over a hundred opportunities and helps you find out how to take a more active role to make a difference to Birmingham. Using Be Involved you can find out:

• How to join local forums or attend ward meetings.

• How to influence decisions and make a difference.

• How to start e-petitions.

• About volunteering opportunities.

For both projects the impact upon equality has been taken into consideration and Equality Impact Assessments have been completed.
