Getting fair access to adult social care services and support

How do I know if I am eligible for services from you?

We will be able to tell you if you are eligible (that is, if you qualify) for adult social care services from us, after we have met with you to assess your social care needs.

The assessment will tell us whether your social care needs are 'critical', 'substantial', 'moderate' or 'low'. You are eligible for services and support from us if your needs are assessed as 'critical' or 'substantial'.

Further information about eligibility is available in the Department of Health document: Prioritising need in the context of Putting People First: a whole system approach to eligibility for social care - guidance on eligibility criteria for adult social care, England 2010.
