This is the website for Brasshouse Translation, Interpreting and Accessible Information Services (BTIS) – Birmingham City Council’s corporate language service.
British Sign Language
For your convenience, all English pages on the BTIS website are accompanied by a British Sign Language video. Please click on the BSL link on each page if you would like to view this.
BTIS offers a wide range of language services such as interpreting between speakers of different languages, translating the written word, recording facilities in English and in foreign languages, voice-overs for films and transcription and translation of foreign language recordings.
We translate and interpret between English and most World languages.
We also offer advice and consultation on communicating effectively with people with disabilities such as hearing impairment or sight loss. The Accessible Information Service provides facilities for converting text into other formats such as Braille or MOON.
