CAF and fCAF Training for Practitioners
The central CAF team provides a variety of training on all aspects of the CAF and fCAF process aimed at front line practitioners and their managers in the children’s and adults’ workforce across the statutory , voluntary and private sector.
- Awareness Raising
The first element ( module 1) of the CAF / fCAF training , this is a general introduction to the CAF/fCAF process which should be used by all practitioners and managers who work with children, young people, adults and families. This is an eLearning package and takes about 10 minutes to complete on line. It is the essential pre requisite to the one day CAF / fCAF training.
Available all the time, accessed directly via the CAF website . No separate log in details are required.

- One day CAF / fCAF training
This training is aimed at all staff who are likely to be involved in the assessment process, contributing to CAF/fCAF interventions , who may act as the professional lead in casework and who will be involved in completing the CAF / fCAF documentation. (It is essential that the Raising awareness package (module 1) is completed prior to booking in to this training.
This training consists of 2 elements:
Firstly : a further interactive eLearning package which takes about 45 minutes to complete on line (module 2). This must be completed before the face to face element (module 3)
Secondly : group training with trainers from the CAF team in a multi agency setting using a variety of learning methods (module 3) which takes a day
Training is offered at a variety of venues across the city .
Modules 2 and 3 are accessed via an on line booking system.
