Giving something back
Jacquie and her husband Paul had five children between them: three boys from previous marriages and twins together, a boy and a girl.
"We have a good home environment", explained Jacquie. "We both love children and our boys were getting bigger so we felt we were in a good position to give something back. We already had five children between us so we weren't looking to adopt to fulfil a need to have children of our own. We just recognised that we have a lot to give to a child and thought it would be wonderful to adopt.
"So when the twins were three, almost four, and I was in my early 40s we started looking into it. Ten years on, our adopted daughter Stephanie is 15 and will be taking her GCSEs soon. It really has been a wonderful experience."
