Leisure centres that provide activites for babies and toddlers are listed below. Click on the leisure centre you would like to visit and see the essential service information for specific details.

Essential Information
  • Babies

    • Keep swim sessions short while they are small as they chill very quickly.
    • Have a dry towel ready to wrap your baby in as soon as you leave the water.
    • We recommend that babies wear clean trainer pants that fit closely around the legs for swimming, as nappies spread the risk of infection. Nappy changing facilities are available at all leisure centres as well as nappy bins which must be used.
    • Stay in close contact with your baby at all times whilst in the water.
    • Armbands can be used once your baby/toddler is confident about being the pool but please stay within arms reach. We do not recommend the use of swim rings.

    Breastfeeding

    • All our leisure centres welcome breastfeeding as a natural way of feeding a baby. All members of staff will support the needs of breastfeeding mothers when the opportunity arises.

    Pool Rules

    • No children under the age of 8 years will be admitted to the pool unless accompanied by an adult who must be 16 years old or over.
    • One adult in the pool to every 2 children aged under 8 years.
    • One adult to every 10 children aged 8 years and over.
    • Spectators must remain within the beach area and not enter onto the pool side. Please keep small children under control.
    • Use of snorkels, flippers, masks and similar equipment is not permitted.
    • People not capable of swimming 25 metres unaided, comfortably, must stay within their depth. Small children should be kept within the depth of the adult supervising them on a 1:1 basis.
