Approved Planning Policies

We have a large number of adopted planning policy and guidance documents which help us shape the future of the city.
A number of these are Area Based Policies, ie designed to direct different land uses and development within a defined boundary.
Others are subject based City Wide Policies, ie those designed to advise on specific types of development.
The statutory policies are contained in the Local Development Framework, whilst the guidance documents are there to help explain in detail some of the aspirations for the areas.
The status of each document is given at the bottom of each page. We have also provided a guide to document statuses and what they mean when we determine planning applications.
