Public Register of Environmental Information - European Ecolabel
The Ecolabel is the sign of a special product. Products with the label's flower symbol achieve high environmental standards. The label is only awarded to goods and services which meet strict criteria to minimise the impacts of consumer products on the environmnet.
In the United Kingdom the eco-labelling scheme is administered by the Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; http://www.defra.gov.uk/.
The European Commission is required to maintain a register of all applications approved within the Community. This is be published periodically in the Official Journal of the European Communities, and a copy is also held by DEFRA.
