Constituency Tenant Groups
Constituency Tenant Groups were launched in December 2006, following the single largest recruitment of tenants in the country. Each Constituency Tenant Group is made up of 12 tenants and/or leaseholders from each of Birmingham's ten constituencies.
The Role of Constituency Tenant Groups (CTGs)
CTGs are part of the Birmingham's new Tenant Involvement Agreement, which was launched in March 2007.
-
Improve services within their constituency.
-
Decide how to prioritise their resources.
-
Monitor the progress of the Decent Homes Programme
-
Establish tenant involvement and influence at the core of decision making in the delivery of Birmingham’s housing service.
Constituency Tenant Groups also:
- Monitor and review tenant involvement activity in the constituency.
- Decide how to get tenants involved by developing and updating a Constituency Tenant Involvement Agreement each year.
- Develop their own Tenant Involvement Agreement, specifically for CTGs.
- Report annually to the Citywide Tenant Group.
To learn more about the powers and responsibilities of CTGs take a look at the constitution, attached at the very bottom of this page.
