Understanding the private rented sector in Birmingham
This briefing summarises the findings of an ongoing series of investigations into rent levels and market changes in the private rented sector, which is carried out every six months. The analysis is based on advertised rental prices of properties available in the city in spring (April) and autumn (October). The analysis highlights:
- The number of properties advertised
- The mean market rental price by property type and size
- The percentage of the market accessible to households in receipt of Local Housing Allowance (LHA)
- Fluctuations in rental prices and changing market dynamics
