Several Pulse Point gyms also incorporate a small free weights area.

How do I join a Pulse Point/Power Point gym?
If you have never used a Pulse Point or Power Point gym before, you will first need to book a starter programme or full programme session with a fitness instructor, who will show you how to use the equipment safely and advise you on getting the best possible results.

During your session a programme will be designed to meet your fitness goals. As you become fitter your programme will become easier. It is important to have your programme reviewed regularly by an instructor in order to continue your progress towards a much fitter you!

How do I book a programme?
To book a programme please telephone your nearest pulse point centre. Please arrive at the gym promptly to begin at your booked time. We may not be able to honour your booking if you arrive late.

After six to eight weeks you can book in for a programme review. We advise you to have your programme reviewed every six to eight weeks.

The programme fee must be paid in advance to retain the booking.

Do I need to book a programme if I'm already familiar with gym equipment?
As equipment can differ greatly from one gym to another, we are required to give instruction on your initial visit for your own health and safety. Your current knowledge and level of fitness will be taken into account during this session.

What is a gym users card?
After your induction you will receive a Leisure Card (if you already have one then the membership type will be added to your existing card). You must produce this card at reception on every visit to the gym.

Is there anything else I should know before my first visit?
To ensure your enjoyment a code of etiquette is displayed in the gym. We ask all customers visiting us to abide by this code.

Do your gyms have free weights areas?
Our three Power Point gyms at Alexander Stadium, Chamberlain Health & Fitness Centre and Small Heath Leisure Centre are all equipped with a wide selection of free weights. Due to the nature of this activity, we insist that you undergo a Power Point induction before using the gym.

Do I need consent from my doctor to use a Pulse Point / Power Point Gym?
Before using a Pulse Point gym
we ask you to fill out a medical profile card. This will enable one of our instructors to plan your exercise programme. Your instructor may refer you to your doctor if we need more information about a medical condition.
