'Lest We Forget' Online Exhibition
This Online exhibition has been produced as part of the national and local commemorations of the 60th anniversary of VE Day and VJ Day.
Using photographs, documents and wartime ephemera it aims to reflect the life of Birmingham citizens during World War Two and the celebrations that greeted the end of that war in the summer of 1945.
The images used in this exhibition are taken from the collections of Birmingham Central Library - Archives and Heritage Service, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. With special thanks to contributors of material from their personal collections: Norman Bartlam, Roy Edwards, Henry Mason, Colin Gibbs and Alan Wyant.
You can see larger versions of all the pictures by clicking on them.
