Facilities and Access
There is no dedicated parking for visitors to Birmingham Central Library, but there are several public car parks and on-street parking in the vicinity. City Centre Car Park Map
Food and Drink
NEW! You are welcome to consume your own refreshments in the designated take-a-break areas, which include the Library of Birmingham Lounge in the foyer area and in the former cafe area on the first floor. Vending machines are also available.
Visitors to the archives searchroom are required to leave coats and bags in a locker and lockers are also available in the open access area, free of charge.
Public toilets are situated on floor 2. Disabled toilet facilities (RADAR key operated) are available on the ground floor. Children’s toilet and baby-changing facilities are in Centre for the Child, ground floor.

There is limited parking available for Blue Badge Holders. Please telephone 0121 303 4304 in advance of your visit. Escalators are in place to move from floor to floor in the library and there is also a public lift. A range of specialized equipment is available and a detailed list can be found at Disability resources in Central Library
There are public payphones on the ground floor and designated areas for using mobile phones. Please switch off, or set your phone to silent whilst in the library.
