Health Exchange

The Health Exchange on Floor 5 of Birmingham Central Library - a partnership founded by Heart of Birmingham (NHS) Teaching Primary Care Trust and Birmingham Libraries.

This centre of activity will support a larger programme delivering information, advice and guidance on health and healthy lifestyles in Birmingham communities.

The Health Exchange now has a full programme of activities running
in the Hub on Floor 5 of Central Library and in local centres.


You can borrow books and videos, and get ideas to help you live a healthier lifestyle, from Birmingham Libraries. Find out everything you need to know about health issues, diet, exercise and alternative and complimentary medicine.

The Central Lending Library has a large health collection.

In the Science Library on Floor 5 of the Central Library, staff can help you to find more detailed health information such as self-help and support groups.

You will also find the Arthritis Resource Centre on this floor.

The Science Library Hot Topics deal with current health issues, such as Deep Vein Thrombosis, the MMR Vaccination, GM Food, Smoking and Mobile Phones & Health and Men's Health.
