Birmingham City Council Recreational Swimming Pools
The following city council pools are the most accessible to people with physical disabilities:

The pool has a hoist.
Cocks Moors Woods Leisure Centre Tel: 0121 464 1996
The pool has a sloped entry, with shower chairs and large family changing facilities. There is a changing bed and hoist for use by trained advocates and carers. Although disabled people are welcome to swim whenever the pool is open to the general public, there is a free session for disabled people on Saturdays between 5 and 6pm.

The pool is deck level with low steps into it. It also has a pool hoist and shower chairs. The Wobblers and Wheelies swimming club meets here on a Friday evening between 8.30 and 9.30pm.

The pool has a sloped access and shower chairs. There is also a changing bed and hoist for use by trained advocates or carers.
Tiverton Pool & Fitness Centre Tel: 0121 464 0779
The pool has a hoist and runs learn-to-swim sessions specifically for disabled children.

You can learn to swim on one of our Strokes swimming courses.
There are specific swimming sessions for disabled young people at Tiverton Road Pool and Fox Hollies Leisure Centre.

Disability Swimming Clubs
The following disability swimming clubs provide a range of swimming opportunties, from recreational to competitive activities:
Wobblers and Wheelies Sports Club
Recreational and coaching swimming sessions for people with physical impairments at Fox Hollies Leisure Centre in Acocks Green. Hoist and pool chairs are available. The club meets on a Friday between 8.30 and 9.30pm.

Recreational swimming at Wilson Stuart School, Perry Common. Ramped access and pool chairs available. The club meet on a Wednesday (school terms only) between 6.30 and 7.30pm.

City of Birmingham Special Olympics
Recreational and coaching swimming sessions for people with a learning disability. Pool hoist available. The club meets on a Monday between 5 and 7pm at Stechford Cascades.

Alta Sports Club
Recreational and coaching swimming sessions at the Munrow Sports Centre, University of Birmingham, Selly Oak. Pool hoist and shower chairs available. The club meets on a Sunday between 1 and 2.30pm.
West Midlands Disability Swim Squad
This is a squad of junior and senior swimmers from county level through to National/International/Paralympic level. They meet every second Saturday in the month between 9 and 10.30am at Langley Swimming Centre in Oldbury.
