Community Connection

Birmingham Library and Archive Services have been awarded £1.4 million from the Big Lottery Fund’s Community Libraries programme for a project called Community Connection.

This will be happening in five libraries: Erdington,Frankley, South Yardley, Ward End and Yardley Wood.

Local people helped to design each library’s up- to- date community space with catering facilities, new furniture and ICT. Now they have a room which is flexible and multi-purpose. The spaces are fully accessible and have hearing induction loops.

The spaces were launched from September 2009 to July 2010 with fun days and taster activities.

There’s lots happening for you to enjoy. From cradle clubs to family history sessions, mehndi, photography and employment support, there’s something for everyone.
