Shortlist announced

Alan 'Kurly' McGeachie, Hayley Frances, Stephen Morrison-Burke have been shortlisted for Birmingham Poet Laureate 2012/13.

Birmingham Poet Laureate 2012/2013 Longlist and Shortlist Poets

After much debate and deliberation, six local poets were longlisted for the role of Birmingham Poet Laureate 2012/2013 - the six poets longlisted were Gary Longden, Pauline Morgan, Stephen Morrison-Burke, Hayley Frances, Rosie Miles and Alan 'Kurly' McGeachie.

To celebrate National Poetry Day 2012, each poet was also asked to write a poem on the theme of 'STARS'.

From the six poets longlisted, three poets made it to the shortlist . . .

To find out who they are, come along to the Poetry Brunch at Birmingham Central Library (in the Festival Bookshop) on National Poetry Day, Thursday 4 October, from 11am until 1pm.

The winner will be announced on Thursday 4 October, 6 - 8pm at Yumm Café, Zellig (The Custard Factory), Gibb Street, Digbeth, Birmingham, B9 4AA
