Telecommunications - Possible Health Related Issues
The Governments latest advice on Telecommunications is contained in The National Planning Policy Framework
It is the governments firm view that the planning system is not the place for determining health safeguards. It remains central Governments responsibility to decide what measures are necessary to protect public health.
Paragraph 46 of the NFPP states 'Local Planning Authorities must determine applications on planning grounds. They should not seek to .... determine health safeguards, If the proposal meets International Commission guidelines for public exposure.
Therefore, where a mobile phone mast installation meets the ICNRP guidelines this Council cannot refuse permission.
