Moseley Conservation Area was originally designated in 1983 and extended in 1987.
The area was characterised by the village centre and surrounding Edwardian properties. It incorporates Moseley Hall Hospital , park and St Mary's Church.
In 2005 we restricted the types of work often permitted without planning permission to retain the original features on certain residential properties in the area. This is known as an Article 4 Direction. It means that planning permission is required from us to, for example, change door or window details.
Supplementary planning guidance for the area was also produced in 2005 and provides a framework for the preservation and enhancement of the character area.
A map showing the boundary of the conservation area is below along with the original designation report and details of the Article 4 Direction.
