Outdoor Learning Service

The Outdoor Learning Service (OLS) has a network of residential and day activity centres spread throughout the Midlands and North Wales. These centres can provide users with experiences designed to promote well being, learning, positive attitudes, healthy lifestyles and safety using a superb range of creative outdoor learning opportunities, from Forest Schools and Adventurous Activities to Farm Visits and Environmental Studies.

Our highly qualified staff work with schools to either plan bespoke programmes or groups can take one of our ‘off the shelf’ options that are linked to and designed to enrich the curriculum. We have four residential centres: Ogwen Cottage (Snowdonia), Bockleton (Shropshire), Stansfeld (Oxford) and Bell Heath (Worcestershire). These centres offer options, including camping, self catering, fully catered and a choice of programmes and course length to suit all budgets. We also have a number centres that cater for day visits in and around Birmingham. The BOEC provide adventurous activities at our centres or your sites while our four other centres offer environmental activities with a focus on themes.

The OLS also works with a wide range of community groups for weekend, holiday and out of hours provision.
