Exchanging Places

Birmingham Exchanging Places is an HGV and Cycle Safety Campaign.

On Saturday 7 March 2015, Birmingham Cycle Revolution is welcoming back their award winning Birmingham Exchanging Places campaign with an event in Sutton Park.

From 10:00 to 15:00, the team will be at Boldmere Gate entrance, Sutton Park offering members of the public the chance to sit in the driver’s seat of a HGV and experience first-hand the blind spots faced by drivers of large vehicles.

We can all help to make our roads safer by being aware of the dangers and taking steps to reduce the risk of collisions. Some insider knowledge about how HGVs operate, together with some driving and cycling dos and don’ts can help us all travel more safely on our roads.

Officers from the City Council, West Midlands Police and Jaguar Land Rover will offer members of the public useful safety information, discuss the various scenarios that can occur whilst cycling near HGVs, and give practical advice about staying safe on our roads.
