Kingfisher Country Park - Management Plan
Birmingham City Council declared 90 hectares of land at Norman Chamberlain Playing Fields, Shard End as a Local Nature Reserve in 2004. This is was the first of a series of Local Nature Reserves in the Birmingham section of Project Kingfisher.
Local Nature Reserve (LNR) status gives added protection to the site from built development and increases the potential for obtaining grants for site improvements.
The declaration process included public consultation on a five year Management Plan for the site.
You can download the management plan as pdf documents from the attachments below. Plans depicting the proposals are also attached as .pdf files with the exception of aerial photographs. A hard copy of the full plan is available from the Rangers at Shard End Community Centre, and also at Shard End Library.
