Household Recycling Centres (Council Tips)

For opening hours and a list of items that can be taken to your local household recycling centre, please click on the sites below:

Household Recycling Centres are managed on behalf of the City Council by Veolia Environmental Services (VES).

If you have a van or a car with a large trailer, you will need a permit to use a HRC. Criteria and permit details are available at: www.veolia.co.uk/birmingham

Trade Waste

Our HRC sites are not licensed to accept waste that comes from any commercial or business activity. The City Council reserves the right to inspect any waste and can refuse to accept waste where it has doubt about its origin.

Pedestrian access to the sites is not permitted.

Children and pets must remain in cars at all times

Local Recycling Centre (bottle, paper and textile banks)

The City Council has over 400 local recycling sites around the city for recycling a number of items including paper, glass, drinks cans and textiles. Please see link for details of your nearest location.
If you discover a full, overflowing or vandalised recycling bank please e-mail recycling@birmingham.gov.uk to report it.
