The local authority has a statutory duty to protect children who are engaged in the performance industry.
We work to ensure that children have an enjoyable experience and that neither their health or education suffers as a result of their performance.
Chaperones are registered and approved for a maximum of 3 years, after which they will need to re-register.
Once approved, Chaperones act on behalf of the Licensing Authority and work to safeguard the health and well-being of children involved in performances.
Training is a requirement to in order to complete the registration.
In order to offer a choice of dates and locations, Birmingham Licensing Authority now delivers joint Chaperone Training with Solihull, Warwickshire and Sandwell and offers a mixture of day time or evening training sessions.
