Trafalgar Memorial
In October 2005, to mark the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar, Birmingham City Council unveiled a giant banner, covering almost a full side of Birmingham Town Hall. The background showed Nicholas Peacock's painting' Trafalgar - Beginning Of The Action', overlaid with Lemuel Francis Abbott's portrait, 'Rear-Admiral Horatio Nelson, 1758-1805'. Both paintings are at the National Maritime Museum, London.
The banner listed the names of the Birmingham-born men who served at the battle. Below is the list with the vessel that they served on:
