Welcome to Yardley : Stechford Football Club
Young footballers kick off new venture
The idea to create Stechford Youth FC, made up of around 50 of the area primary school pupils, came from the children themselves, eager to improve sporting provision locally. They contacted the council for help and the request received a warm welcome, in the form of ,000 from the district Neighbourhood Renewal Fund (NRF).
And in order to stay active and have access to sporting activities in the close season, the club has also arranged for cricket coaching during the summer school holidays. Cllr David Osborne, said: his is an encouraging project in many respects. ocal children who care about their community have taken the lead in developing and pursuing this a promising scheme that will engage a large number of young people and keep them fit and healthy. t also shows how useful the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund is as a tool for financially helping some of our area best schemes and projects.
