New Land and Property Grants for Businesses
We secured over £8m from the European Union to support small and medium businesses and enterprises who wish to improve and develop their land and property.
Grants are still available in three areas of the city and you are invited to apply.
There are two levels of funding
Property Assistance Programme - Grants are available up to 50% of the eligible project costs, up to a maximum grant value of £100,000. Applications are still invited and will be considered on a first come first served basis, until the funding is allocated.
Key Opportunities Programme - Grants of up to 35% of the eligible project costs, from a minimum grant value of £100,000. A second call for applications is now open in Digbeth and the Jewellery Quarter. The closing date is 5pm on Tuesday 28th May 2013. More information is available here.
The emphasis of the grant is to help enable physical improvements to properties, generate employment growth, retain jobs and enhance economic competitiveness.
To achieve this, the end use of the building would generally be for manufacturing and processing or office uses, as defined by Classes B1 and B2 of the Planning Use Classes Order.
Please note retail, housing, education and leisure uses are not eligible. Talk to us if you are unsure.
Works could include new building work, extending existing commercial premises, internal works, fixed plant and equipment, and demolitions, land clearance and reclamation which would lead to new commercial space.
The leaflet below provides a summary of the grants, and more details about the areas covered and how to apply are available by following these links.
