Name The Gritter

Amey and Birmingham City Council would like to give all Birmingham primary schools the opportunity to name one of the new fleet of gritters which keep the city's streets moving safely when the winter weather descends.

Youngsters may have already seen the gritters out and about - including when a team of Amey employees pulled one along Broad Street with Pudsey Bear on board, to raise money for Children in Need. And now is their chance to come up with a suitable name for the vehicles.

Teachers who would like their class to enter the competition can find all of the details here in the Word documents available for download. There is an entry form, short 'winter weather' quiz, and of course, room to submit the name that each class thinks is a fitting one for our gritters.

The closing date is 10 February 2012.
