Education and Vulnerable Chiildren O&S Committee, Wednesday 22nd October @2pm
Peter Hay, Director of Children Services will be providing the committee with an update on the Childrens Social Care Improvement Plan.
The Birmingham Safeguarding Children Board will be presenting their Annual Report and Business Improvement plan
Joint Health Scrutiny meeting, Monday 20th October in Solihull Council House at 6.00pm.
Members will receive an update from Professor Ros Keeton (Chief Executive of the Birmingham Women’s Hospital)on the Maternity Capacity Review and the VITA project.
The VITA Project will redevelop the Birmingham Women’s Hospital site to allow all services to adopt new clinical practices, respond to increasing projected demand and enable replacement of unsuitable accommodation with new healthcare facilities.
Representatives from the Heart of England Foundation Trust (HoEFT) will also talk about their maternity services and the effectiveness of the Jonah System.
The JONAH system highlights patients who are medically fit for discharge and promotes multidisciplinary working to discharge patients effectively.
In addition, the Clinical Commissioning Groups from both Birmingham and Solihull will update the Members on Urgent Care.
Birmingham Economy and Jobs O&S Committee, Friday 17th October 2014 at 10am in Committee Rooms 3 & 4
Members will be discussing employment and skills with the Cabinet Member for Skills, Learning and Culture and the Assistant Director for Employment. Included in this will be an update on the progress made on the Disability and Employment Inquiry. In addition Members will be discussing the City Centre Retail Strategy and the Community Infrastructure levy - both of which are out for consultation (these can be accessed on the Council’s consultation website https://www.birminghambeheard.org.uk/).
