The Overview and Scrutiny annual report 2007 - Download a copy

The Overview and Scrutiny (O&S) Annual Report 2007 contains an overview of work undertaken last year and how this work is contributing to the key issues facing the Council. It also contains details of work planned or in progress up to the end of the current municipal year.

O&S forms an important part of the City Council’s “checks and balances” and provides one of the most important ways in which Councillors can pursue the interests of local people. It will be of interest to anyone working for or on the receiving end of services provided by the City Council and NHS.

Why not download a copy of The Overview and Scrutiny Annual Report. Hard copies are also available at neighbourhood offices, libraries and leisure centres across the city. You can also request a copy by telephoning 0121 675 4010.

Health O&S Committee 18th June

One of the primary areas of consideration for the Committee will be health inequalities in Birmingham. They will also be looking at the Towards 2010 Programme, which is being jointly run, by the Heart of Birmingham PCT, Birmingham City Council and Sandwell PCT. This will consist of an initial outline of the previous developments as well as a look at the most recent progress. The development of health centres remains a topical issue at the heart of public interest and the Committee will also be looking at this in further detail. Finally, they will consider the work of the NICE (the National Institute of Clinical Excellence) as well as their policies for assessing drug treatments as this is an issue frequently raised with members of the Committee. Please note that this meeting will take place in Committee Room C of the Council House Extension.
