Doorstep Recycling Collections

Birmingham City Council currently offers 3 doorstep recycling schemes:

Blue box/bag- Paper and card
Green box- Glass bottles and jars, food and drinks cans and plastic bottles
Clear sack- Garden waste

Your recycling is collected every two weeks on the same day as your refuse, with the blue and green boxes collected one week and the clear garden waste sack collected the other week.

Please do not put your garden waste sacks out for collection at the same time as the boxes (unless told otherwise).

Your blue box is for paper and cardboard and is collected every other week on the same day as your usual refuse collection and your green box.

Green garden waste recycling scheme:


Garden waste sack

You may wish to consider purchasing a compost bin by going to www.birmingham.getcomposting.com or by calling 0845 130 6090.

The clear garden waste sacks are for garden wasteonly and are collected every other week on the same day as your usual refuse collection. They are collected on the opposite week to your blue and green boxes.
