Gay Village Environmental Improvements

This project, which is located in the southside of the city centre within the Gay Village Quarter, is part of the BIG CITY PLAN, a three year program of works aimed at regenerating key areas of the city centre.

The project aims to provide high profile environmental improvements to the area and the main works include:

  • Improved footpaths
  • Upgraded lighting
  • New trees
  • Rationalisation of parking bays.

The roads that are directly affected by the project are Hurst Street, Kent Street and Lower Essex Street as shown in the plan attached below.
