Parks Courses
The Horticultural Training Centre at Kings Heath Park has been established for almost 60 years and has a highly trained team of horticultural professionals who offer a range of courses for both professional and amateur gardeners.
For the last 60 years the Training Centre has been a centre of horticultural excellence and many students who trained here now work in senior positions in Education, Local Authorities, Commercial Horticulture, Sports Turf management and some have become TV or Radio Presenters.
The Horticultural Training Centre currently provides a wide range of training which includes Horticulture, Garden Design, Turf Culture, Machinery and a wide range of skills for Birmingham City Council staff, local companies and the local community.
Mike Hinton, Parks Development Manager, is currently organising courses for 2012 at the Horticultural Training Centre, Kings Heath Park.
The courses delivered by Mike Hinton and his team provide both basic theoretical and practical advice which enables people to get the most from their gardens, growing a wide range of plants, fruit and vegetables throughout the year, which provides healthy food and exercise during these tough economic times.
In addition, professional courses can also be arranged including Chainsaw Certification, Tractor Driving, Pesticide training etc.
