Regulatory Services Enforcement Policy
The Regulation and Enforcement Division of Birmingham City Council consists of a variety of service areas; each one has significant responsibility for enforcing criminal and civil legislation relevant to its area of work.
The Legislative and Regulatory Reform Act 2006 requires us to publish an Enforcement Policy which we review annually. The policy commits Regulation and Enforcement to good enforcement practice and describes what businesses, or indeed anyone, can expect in terms of when and how our officers take legal action.

A consultation on the enforcement policy closed on 18 February and the policy was approved by the Licensing and Public Protection Committee at their meeting on 20 March 2013.
On request the policy can be made available on tape, in braille or large type.
