Overview

The Elections Office appoints casual staff at different times of the year, to assist in both the running of elections, and also during the annual canvass.

Update

The next scheduled election is the European Parliamentary Election, which will take place on Thursday 22 May 2014, with the count taking place, in line with the rest of Europe, on Sunday 25 May.

We still have a number of vacancies across the city:

  • Poll Clerks: Thursday 22 May 2014 6.30am to 10pm
  • Counting Assistants: Thursday 22 May 2014 starting at 9.30pm

Please pass the attached application form to any persons interested. It is not necessary to be a City Council employee in order to work at the Election.

We send out the majority of our information via email now, including job offers. Therefore please ensure that you provide an up-to-date email address on any application form you submit.

Please be aware that due to the high number of application forms we receive, it is not possible to confirm receipt of application forms. We will also not inform applicants if they have been unsuccessful, as it is possible that vacancies will arise at the last minute.

Essential Information
  • The current Register Of Electors is available for inspection at the Elections Office, The Council House, Birmingham, B1 1BB during office hours. The Elections Office is open 8:45 am to 5:00pm (Mon to Thurs) and 8:45am to 4:15pm (Fri).

    Electors’ information is held on a street name basis. You will need an address to search for individuals.
