It helps pay for the services Birmingham city council provides for the citizens of Birmingham.

Reports have been received from members of the public stating that they have received requests for bank details from an unknown company. Council Tax staff do not contact people in this manner to offer refunds. Council Tax payers are advised not to disclose bank details or personal information to anyone contacting them advising of an entitlement to a refund.
